ZOOTECHNOLOGY is a potential Ukrainian estation in the field of agro-industrial complex, that has specialized in the high-producing animal agriculture for over 10 years. ZOOTECHNOLOGY Company has accumulated successful experience, that enabled the company to become second-to-none in the south region and to take its rightful place among the largest Ukrainian producers of pork. These days, ZOOTECHNOLOGY’s breeding stock makes up to 3,700 sows, and the overall herd is 38,000 headcount. The company keeps working on the production capacity increase, making its position stronger in the South and delivering the products to the markets of other regions of Ukraine.
ZOOTECHNOLOGY is a large company with complete cycle of pigs reproduction, starting with sow farm to production. It sells its products by live weight and pork sides. Since 2005, the farm has been implementing advanced technologies, which are employed by the leading countries in animal husbandry, and continues to improve its own production. Тhus, in 2014, wet/dry feeders were acquired from the Canadian company “Crystal Spring Hog Equipment”, that resulted in material efficiency increase of hog growing.
ZOOTECHNOLOGY maintains close strategic partner relations with the European companies (Wesstron, Breeders, Dahmira) and local producers (TEXHA Production Association, Farmer Atlantik), аs well as with the top western companies, which have potential scientific and research base (Ceva Sante Animal, Boehringer Ingelheim, Zoetis, Intervet, Invesa, KRKA, etc.). As an example, ZOOTECHNOLOGY is among the first companies in Ukraine to have conducted testing of innovative vaccine Improvac, which allows to feed uncastrated boars with higher growth performance.
ZOOTECHNOLOGY’s high-quality products and efficient production is ensured by its team of qualified experts, with key role of the Canadian consultant technologist Sheron Heldman. Аs to the optimal technique performances, they are achieved owing to three-breed meat-type hybrids Landrace-Yorkshire-Duroc.
The Company’s strategic goal is to achieve 10,000 sows population. To fulfill this task, the program of construction and production revamping is in progress. Besides, we implement vertical integration intensification program: formation of our own fodder base and meat processing capacities. Thus, within the frames of this program, the up-to-date animal slaughter line, with output of 1,200 heads per month, was put into operation.
The Company pays particular consideration in this program to innovative practices of animal husbandry, feeding, to issues of the fodder product safety, аnd to energy saving and renewable energy sources. Solid fuel boilers were installed and the hog houses were heat-insulated with warmth-keeping materials. The measures provided for 2.5 times savings in heating expenses during one cold season. The work arrangement on solar energy exploitation for production needs will be our next step.
